"Back to Reality"- Day 6
Bags are packed...overstuffed, actually. I didn't think we bought that many things!It was sad leaving Disney World. That has become one of our family favorites! But hey, there's always next year, right? We climbed aboard Disney's Magical Express for our ride to the Orlando airport. We made it through security without any problems and waited at our gate for the airplane. The kids were traveling with their new dinosaurs buddies from the Build-a-Bear store at T-Rex. Rex III and Minnie were just as happy to be heading home as we were! Vacations are always nice. But coming home is just the best. Besides, we had a four-legged furry creature to pick up from the vet! The airline trip went pretty fast. The kids finished up the homework they started on the flight over. It was raining when we arrived in Memphis. What a shock! On the drive back to Tupelo, we all slept--except the driver, of course. We went home and unloaded the car and all the goodies. Before long, it was pet pick-up time at our vet. Brody was so glad to see us, and maybe a little mad at us for leaving him for so long!

"At Home in Hollywood"- Day 5
We had breakfast at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort. This was nice because it was just a quick stop on the monorail. We had breakfast, complete with Mickey Mouse waffles! It was fun posing for pictures with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. We waved our napkins with the music, and MC decided to get up and dance with Donald Duck.

For our last day in the parks, we started our adventures at Hollywood Studios. Mary Conlee says she and Mommy are going to move to Hollywood so she can be a pop star. I guess that means Daddy and Cole will hold down the fort in Mississippi?! The kids were already in love with the Rockin' Rollercoaster, but neither one (nor Judd) would attempt to ride Tower of Terror. That was my hidden agenda for the day! While Cole and Daddy were at the Indiana Jones stunt show, MC and I went to see the live performance of Beauty and the Beast. She was mesmerized! This is one of her favortites since her Daddy was Cogsworth, the clock. It was great seeing the condensed version in 30 minutes. We were supposed to meet the boys after both performances, but she and I took a little detour. I took her to Tower of Terror before she knew what we were doing. That way, she didn't have Cole (or Daddy) to make her more nervous. She was a little reluctant, but got on anyway. After we went through the Twilight Zone story, we plummeted 13 stories...up and down. She was squealing and said she loved it. But when asked if she would ride again, she wasn't too sure. I think she was just glad to get off of it alive! We did coerce the boys to ride with us and they liked it, too!

That afternoon, we came back to the Magic Kingdom for one last visit. Cole and Judd went on every ride one more time. MC and I said it was time for some shopping. We went to Sir Mickey's and Tinker Bell's Treasures. That night, we went to the Spirit of Aloha luau at our resort. It was a fun way to end our trip. We were entertained by hula dancers and guys juggling fire.

"Wild Animals"- Day 4
Our morning began at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa for as Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. We loved these character meals where the kids could talk to and get autographs from all our beloved Disney characters. Mary Poppins, the friends from Pooh's Corner, Alice in Wonderland, and the Mad Hatter were the guests of honor at this breakfast.

We made our way to the Animal Kingdom for the day. Our first stop was to see the Yeti at Expedition Everest. Cole was not too excited to be going on this ride, especially after seeing all the pictures and folklore about the Yeti. It was a great ride, but you couldn't convince Cole of this. He kept his eyes closed the entire time and refused to ride it again. Mary Conlee loved it and we rode it with her several more times!

We conquered Mount Everest!
The Kali River Rapids were wild and we got soaked BIG TIME! We also enjoyed the Dinosaur ride. After braving all the rides, we visited the animals in the park, mainly the hippo. Mary Conlee could stare at the river horse for hours, but we just didn't have that kind of time!
We stood in awe of the hippo at Animal Kingdom. This is MC's favorite of all animals!
For dinner, we went to Downtown Disney for reservations at the the brand new T-Rex Restaurant. This was an awesome experience! Every 20 minutes or so, there was a meteor shower and the lights would dim. The dinosaurs began moving and growling...we felt as though we had gone back in time! After dinner, we had fun at the Lego Store and the World of Disney store. MC picked out all the the items she needed for her Halloween transformation into Snow White. And Cole came home with several Lego kits. We had a great night!

"More Magic"-Day 3
We spent the next day at the Magic Kingdom. We immediately started on rides and getting fast passes to use later in the day once the park became crowded. We took a trip over to Toon Town to visit Mickey's and Minnie's houses. I wasn't aware they lived in separate residences! Minnie's fridge is actually cold! We discovered (after our third trip to Disney) that we could take the train to different parts of the Magic Kingdom to keep from walking from place to place. The kids were a little more tired today and Daddy still refused to rent them a stroller! We had a late lunch at the Crystal Palace, where we visited with Eeyore, Winnie the Pooh, and Tigger.

After our previous 15-hour day, we retired early from the parks for a swim in our resort's swimming pool. The kids loved the water slide through the volcano-- so did their dad! I relaxed on the beach looking across at the Magic Kingdom! That night, we enjoyed the fireworks and listening to music from the Hallowishes Spectacular from the comfort of our resort!

"Three in One"-Day 2
For our first full day at Disney, we started at the Akershus Banquet Hall for a Princess Storybook Breakfast. This was located in Norway at Epcot. The past two trips have included Cinderella's Royal Table at the castle. We enjoyed something new this year. Cole was such a sport during this, although he didn't ask any of the princesses to sign his autograph book! Each of the girls called him handsome, so I think he enjoyed his time as much as we did.

What a sweet brother sitting through all those princesses. I think he secretly enjoyed being called "handsome" by the girls!
After breakfast, we headed over to the Test Track for some fun. We rode that several times before going to Mission Space. While we were waiting in line, Judd reminded me that this is the same ride where someone died. How comforting! There are two intensity levels for this ride. We opted for the less intense experience. Apparently there were some mechanical problems with the ride. As soon as we were closed inside this tiny capsule and strapped in, there was a delay. A long delay. I looked at Judd and the kids and started feeling very trapped and claustrophobic. My cell phone to call for help was stowed away and not within reach. There was no way to open the door from the inside. All of this made me break out in a sweat and hit full panic mode. Luckily, the problem was fixed within 10 minutes. What a cool ride! It felt as if you were in a shuttle being rocketed to Mars. Since we loved it so much, we decided to try the more intense version the next time. HUGE MISTAKE!!! The capsule rotates so fast that it creates the feeling of g forces. We all felt dizzy, nauseated, and had no way of grabbing the barf bags available to us. It was the absolute worse feeling and left MC and I a little queasy for awhile! We enjoyed rides in the Mexico and Norway exhibits before leaving for the Magic Kingdom.

We took the monorail from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom. We went straight to Frontierland to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain. This year, the kids were much more interested in riding the rides instead of chasing down the characters. They are growing up so fast!

For dinner, we went to Hollywood Studios. We ate at the Sci-Fi Restaurant. It looks like a drive-in movie. We sat in a sea foam green car for dinner. There was a huge screen showing classic television shows and commercials. There was almost no sound in the entire room. Everyone was mesmerized by the cool atmosphere and watched tv during dinner.

We spent the rest of our evening in Hollywood. Toy Story Mania is a fun carnival-type ride. We have fun competing with each other for the highest score. Judd usually wins, but not by very much. I'm learning how to play! That night, we found our new love...Rockin' Roller Coaster. It is the fastest ride and it plays the loudest music, performed by Aerosmith. Cole and I rode this first. He was skeptical at first, but agreed to go with me. MC was so glad to see that her brother survived, so she decided to try it, too. She was probably 1/2 inch too short of the required 48", but we taught her how to stand up tall and the big hair bows always gave that little lift she needed! That poor baby was shaking all during our wait to ride. However, she fell in love with it and wanted to keep riding it. It goes from 0-60 mph in about 6 seconds. It does upside down loops and goes very fast. What a smoothe ride, but it was too short of a ride! MC and Cole compared it to a slinky because of all the loops. I didn't have any takers for the Tower of Terror that night, but I surely wasn't going to give up.
After we returned to our room, we were exhausted and rubbed our tired feet. After all, we had been going for 15 hours and had been to 3 different parks. This is the way to do Disney World. And this trip, Judd said our kids were too big to ride a stroller around the parks. So we traveled on foot. My feet are hurting just thinking about it. Good times!
