Happy Birthday, Sweet Mary Conlee!

 
Today is a very special day at the Wilson house. This is the day our little princess turns 7. It is almost impossible to believe! It seems like only yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital and told Cole he was going to be a big brother. He was attached to her from that point on. At first, it was hard having two babies under 2, but it has been such a joy to watch them grow up together. They love each other more than anything, except when they begin to elbow and fight with each other (like they sometimes do at church or in the car!) My mom tells me that she and her brothers were the same way growing up. Being an only child, I didn't understand about the deep love of a brother and sister until I sat next to my dad at his sister's funeral last January. I watched as my 81 year old dad sat with tears streaming down his face, and I began to cry thinking about my own two kids. Mary Conlee might be 22 months younger than Cole, but she mothers him just like I do. Most days, he doesn't like it. But deep down, he is proud that his sister loves him so much. They are so blessed to have such a special bond!

When Judd and I talk about Mary Conlee, we immediately think of her tender heart. She is a lover of nature, especially of hippos, cats, and birds. She gets so excited about the simplest aspects of life. She literally stops to smell the roses...all of them! Or even pauses to lick snow off the bushes! She loves to sing, play the piano, and dance. She loves her initials...every girl should have their monogram on practically everything they own! She is only in first grade, but she already has very lofty goals. First, she plans on moving to Hollywood to become a Pop Star. Afterwards, however, she wants to be a veterinarian. She loves to cook and to eat. She also dreams of becoming a food critic! So, for our sweet little girl who loves all things pink and girly...today is your day. Happy Birthday, Mary Conlee Wilson. May all your dreams come true!
