Tuna for Christmas?

Instead of being able to put up our Christmas tree, hang the stockings, or decorate the house...we have been celebrating a "Tuna Christmas" at the Wilson household. This is a two-man play where each actor portrays 11 different characters from the small town of Tuna, Texas. This is the sequel to "Greater Tuna," in which Judd starred in September '07. Whenever Judd is in one of the plays at the Tupelo Community Theater, we pack in a full house of friends and family.

On Wednesday, Crab (aka Aunt Jen) came to stay for the week. We had fun shopping, running errands, and just hanging out together. We also had our big gift exchange, which is a huge ordeal! Aunt Jen loads her car down with birthday and Christmas presents for the whole family. It's one of the big highlights of the season, that's for sure!

On Friday, Judd's parents arrived from Pensacola, as did William...a long-time famiy friend. William is actually the person who introduced Judd to the Tuna plays, so it was appropo for William to see him in the production. On Saturday, my parents came over from Birmingham for the matinee' performance. Aunt Mary and cousin Cheryl (CheChe) also made the trip from Birmingham to see their little Judd! We had a great time with all of our company.

On Saturday afternoon, I took the kids to see the Nutcracker. Cole had already seen it on Friday with the 2nd grade classes at Parkway, so he was less than thrilled to go back. We worked out a deal. He got to bring his Nintendo DS as long as he kept quiet. MC loved the ballet. She kept her eye on the Sugar Plum Fairy and on our friend, Anna Kathryn (Waltz of the Flowers) most of all! MC is excited about being in it next year!

The only sign of Christmas around our house right now is Henry, our Elf on the Shelf. He showed up last Monday morning and has kept us guessing where he will be each day. Our attitudes have been good, our spirts have been bright...so I think it's working! As long as Henry doesn't go in Mary Conlee's room, we'll be alright. And, Henry has chosen to stay up high this year- just in case Brody gets bored and wants to play with a friend. We have a lot of tree trimming and decking the halls to do this week. Tis the season!
