On the morning we left for Disney World, our car pulled out of the driveway before 6:00 a.m. It is like pulling teeth to get them ready for school by 7:30, but this time, they had no problem getting up! Once we got to Memphis and checked in to our gate, I told Judd I was going to run into one of the stores to buy some things for the plane ride. That's when Cole yelled out, "Mom! We're supposed to being going to Disney World...not shopping." Does he sound like his Dad or what?

We arrived in Orlando before noon. It only took about 1 hour and 40 minutes- the same time it takes us to drive to the lake house! Not a bad flight at all. It surely beats a 13 hour car ride to get there! As soon as we landed, we climbed aboard Disney's Magical Express service. They are in charge of getting our luggage off the plane and into our hotel room. They drove us straight to our hotel, Port Orleans French Quarter. We actually went to our room and rested for about an hour. The kids (and parents) were exhausted and we were going to be up late for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party.

Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) and Captain Jack Sparrow were whisked away to the Magic Kingdom for their night of fun and frolic. We went trick or treating around the Magic Kingdom and were greeted by many Disney characters. All of the rides were open and basically had no wait time. Our first attraction was "It's a Small World." That was MC's favorite ride last time, so we made it our first stop. The last time we were in DW, we made the mistake of taking our then 3 year old princess on the Snow White ride (after we had been told there was a scare factor). That was the first and last ride MC rode, with the exception of Small World. So, this time, she was excited about trying new things. Getting to see all the countries and animals on that very long boat ride was a nice and easy way to start our adventure! We loved Peter Pan's Flight, Dumbo, Jungle Cruise, and Buzz Lightyear's ride. To step it up, we went to Cole's favorite haunt--Pirates of the Caribbean. I think we rode it 10 times the last trip, but MC would never participate. This time, she accompanied us and LOVED it. We knew we had a big girl on our trip this time! The "Boo To You" parade was lots of fun, too. It opened with a dramatic entrance by the "Headless Horseman." My kids are intrigued by the story of Ichabod Crane and the horseman! By the time we got back to our hotel, the kids were so tired. We had to be up early the next morning for breakfast at Cinderella's castle with the princesses. For those of you who know us well, you can chuckle at the fact that the Wilson kids have never seen that late of an hour so many nights in a row. You would be proud at how flexible their Mommy and Daddy were on vacation!
