Mary Conlee comes out tired

You know if you have been to WDW that all the "cast members"- aka workers- call the little girls "princess" and refer to the boys as "my lord" or "prince!" They make everyone feel like a queen (or king), including the parents. For the second time, we dressed our little Princess up in a fine gown (Aurora this time) and journeyed to Cinderella's castle for our royal breakfast. This is the only event held inside the castle, so it's a must for our family. Once we arrived, MC had her portrait made with Cinderella. Of course, she had to get her autograph book signed! Before you start worrying about poor Cole and the fact he had to go, too...DON'T! Cole, as well as all brothers who have been dragged to this event, are given a very dashing sword. This somehow makes up for the fact that they are there amidst princesses from every land! He found another little boy and they started sword fighting right near Cinderella's receiving line. Luckily, they weren't spotted by security! Then, we went upstairs into the dining hall for a "fantabulous" breakfast! Even Judd and Cole enjoyed it. Each Disney princess makes her way around the room in some sort of orchestrated route. You can tell she's "working the room" in an orderly fashion! Everything at Disney is right on time and works like a well-oiled machine. By the time we got to meet each princess, get their autograph, and take their picture, breakfast was over. Mary Conlee went to Cinderella's dressing room (the bathroom) to disrobe from her gown into shorts and a t-shirt...clothing that would be suitable for a day in the Magic Kingdom. We didn't want any glass slippers to go missing!

Besides the same rides we had ridden the night before, we went first to Splash Mountain. This was strategy on Judd's part because he knew we would get wet and wanted us to have plenty of time to "dry out." Good plan, Dad! This turned out to be Cole's most favorite ride. We took both of them on there kicking and screaming because they saw the vast drop down the water slide! It was the cutest themed ride. It was all about the Brers- Bear, Rabbit, Fox, and Frog that live near the Briar Patch. This is their favorite story told to them by Bob Bob. There were several drops, both big and small...and YES, we did get wet. MC cried and cried and vowed to never ride it again. Cole and Dad went right back on it. This was a great time for MC to get her photo made with Goofy.

Thunder Mountain Railroad was Cole's first roller coaster ride at Disney during our last trip. He, too, vowed to never ever ride it again. This time, we couldn't keep him off. Surprisingly, MC loved it more than he did. She loves a wild ride, just not a steep drop-off. We couldn't talk her into doing the Haunted Mansion ride, but Cole did...and loved it. Quite fitting for a child who's favorite holiday is Halloween. Once again, I waited outside the attraction with the princess. We all rode Space Mountain. I can't believe we actually got them on that ride. Well, it was the first and certainly the last time we did! The dark, winding turns of this roller coaster was definitely at the bottom of their list of "things to do while at Disney World."

We left soon after lunch and rode the bus to EPCOT. We didn't go there the last time, so we knew we wanted to this time. We all loved it! As soon as we walked into the park, Judd saw some long time friends of his family. They are formerly from Pensacola. He enjoyed catching up with the Fairchilds and it was a nice break and a great way to slow down a little. They were camping with their motor home and waiting on their son and family to arrive. After the reunion visit, we went to the Spaceship Earth ride. This is the iconic silver geosphere that is symbolic of EPCOT. It was so cool. Then, we went to Soarin'- the ride that takes you up in the air and puts you in front of an IMAX screen. It made my stomach a little queasy, but it ended up being one of our most favorite rides. Where everybody is going 3-D, Disney has surpassed it and has gone 4-D. Not only is it three dimensional, it releases accompanying scents to make you feel like you are really there. From pinetrees, to oceans, to orange groves...we felt like we were "soarin'" over it all! We also went to Nemo and some other attractions before heading back to the French Quarter for dinner. We just thought that EPCOT stood for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. We soon found out that it means "Every Parent Comes Out Tired." So do 5 year old little girls! Just a side note. We planned on renting a double stroller for the kids. Judd thought it would be "good" for them to walk, so walk we did for the first two days. Luckily, they didn't complain, but their pace became slower and slower. I demaned a stroller for Day 3!!!

We made a quick last-minute decision (see...we can be spontaneous from time to time!) to go to Downtown Disney. This is a place filled with every restaurant, entertainment, and shopping experience imaginable. It is as much fun for the parents as it is for the kids. We went to the huge World of Disney store- where there are rooms upon rooms of everything Disney. We also made a stop to the Lego Store. We rode the boat back to our hotel and crashed. Another great day...another very late night!
